Applause 4 Educated Paws Dog Training Facility
Facility Goals:
Applause 4 Educated Paws Dog Training Facility, with your help, will become the first 24/7 practice facility for Virginia Beach dog training enthusiasts. Our goal is to provide members with a practice area that is clean and safe while keeping dues as affordable as possible. Therefore, we ask your cooperation in observing the following guidelines:
Benefits:
1. Members of Applause 4 Educated Paws Dog Training Facility will have access to the building for practice 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The only exceptions are when a class or seminar is in session. Those times will be posted at the building and online. The building, at the present, is equipped for the following events:
Conformation Practice
Rally Novice through Rally Advance (signs and sample courses provided for each level)
Obedience Practice
Canine Free Style
Nose Work (bring your own scent oils)
Therapy Dog Training (practice around medical equipment)
Exercise Area for Walking/Frisbee/Ball Chasing during Inclement Weather
2. One crate will be at the facility for your use. Please clean crate after use with supplies provided by the facility.
3. NO membership meetings to sit through each year.
4 NO volunteer hours required at dog events in order to meet membership requirements.
5. Building is climate controlled and surveillance cameras monitor activity around building.
6. Remember, this is your private time in the building and no other member is to infringe upon your time unless you have made arrangements to train together.
7. All dogs are vaccinated and proof of vaccination is on file with facility.
Membership Requirements:
1. You MUST pick up after your dog inside and outside the building. There is green space around the parking lot where you can potty your dog before you come inside. Please use the outside trash can next to the door for dog waste. If your dog eliminates inside the building, cleaning supplies are provided. Use the outside trash can to dispose of paper towels used for cleaning up after dogs.
2. Keep your dog under control and on a leash when you are not training inside the ring.
3. Keep interaction between dogs to a minimum. Remember not all dogs enjoy the company of other dogs, so please make sure dogs are on leash as you enter and exit the building.
4. If you have a bitch in season, please leave her at home unless she is wearing panties/pad. Bitches in season may not come to group classes. 5. Soft soled shoes are only allowed on the mats. If outside conditions cause shoes to track in rain, mud, snow, salt, sand, etc., please bring clean shoes to wear while you practice. This will be good practice for when we get new agility matting.
6. A liability waiver must be signed and on file prior to use of the facility and equipment.
7. Please clean up any treats that you have used that may have fallen in the training area. Hot dogs are forbidden in or around the building.
8. Please turn off safety light when leaving the building. The other lights are on a timer and will go off when you exit.
9. Classes will be held at the facility a few hours each week. During class times, the ring will not be available for practice. Class times will be posted at the facility and on the website. Please check the schedule when making your practice plans.
10. No smoking or alcoholic beverages allowed in the parking lot or in the building.
11. Do not allow children or dogs to run or be disruptive while at the facility.
12. There will be no teaching of classes or private lessons by members at the facility.
13. Keep a positive outlook about the facility and other members. It will take the cooperation of ALL members to make the practice arrangement successful. However, if you have a concern or constructive suggestion, please let Nancy know by calling 757-202-9393 or send an email to
k9andcats@aim.com
14. Please report damages immediately. We can be reached at 757-202-9393.
Individual Membership Fees:
Monthly Membership - $28.00
3 Month Membership - $75.00 ($25.00 per month)
A nonrefundable initiation fee of $25 will be charged per application to cover the cost of setting up and administering your account, and to cover the cost of the keys for entry to the building. If your membership lapses for more than 3 months, you will be re-assessed the $25 fee to re-join.
Note: We will be changing from keys to magnetic cards or door codes once we decide on the best product for our use.
Family memberships are available for an additional $7.00 per month. This entitles two handlers from the same household to use the facility.
Initially, the number of memberships will be limited to 50 in order to help us determine the optimal number of members the facility can support. Once the initial 50 memberships have been filled, prospective new members will be placed on a waiting list. Members who allow their memberships to lapse and later decide to re-join will have to wait for an opening to become available.
Additional memberships may become available at a later date if management feels they can be accommodated.
